Pamela joined the Conservation Management Institute in 2004 as a natural resource and GIS technician. She has worked on an array of projects while at CMI, ranging from using GIS for natural resource mapping, pre-processing and analysis of IKONOS and Quickbird satellite imagery, to developing custom GIS tools with ArcObjects.
Previously, Pamela has worked as a ecological consultant to the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge, where she created a predictive fuel hazard map for wildfire management within the habitat of the endangered Golden-cheeked Warbler. She received her Master's degree in Biology at Baylor University. Her research focused on the interaction between grass, shrubs, and fire in Big Bend National Park using field collections, prescribed fire, and Landsat TM images. Her undergraduate degree at SUNY Geneseo focused on ecology and GIS analysis. Past internships include the Bronx Zoo, the Braddock Bay Raptor Research Center, and small mammal ecology in central Texas at Baylor University.
