| As a natural resources
specialist for the
Conservation Management Institute (CMI) since 1999, Rebecca Murray
has worked on various projects with the Arkansas, Virginia, and Tennessee
Army National Guard, National Park Service and U.S Fish & Wildlife Service.
The majority of her work involves avian ecology, threatened and endangered
species monitoring and management plan preparation. She has also worked
on various natural resources and environmental projects in Montana, West
Virginia, Washington, DC, Texas and New York. She received her B.S.
degree from
Purdue University where she studied forestry and wildlife management
and Master of Public and International Affairs at Virginia Tech in 2007.
Her international experience includes a
survey for bat and jaguar habitat in Belize; a volunteer trip with Habitat
for Humanity in Ghana, West Africa; and Nepal for her graduate project.
Memberships include the Association
for Women in Development, Virginia Society of Ornithology,
and Association
of Field Ornithologists. She is the International Social Services
Chair for the Montgomery-Floyd Chapter of the American Red Cross, a Certified
Disaster Support Counselor with the The New River Valley Community Disaster
Response Coalition, and board member and secretary for Virginia Partnership
for Animal Welfare and Support. |
