The Conservation Management Institute (CMI) is a research center within the College of Natural Resources at Virginia
Tech. CMI was established in 2000 to better address multi-disciplinary research questions that affect conservation
management effectiveness in Virginia, North America, and the world. Faculty from Virginia Tech and other research
institutions work collaboratively on projects ranging from endangered species propagation to natural resource-based
satellite imagery interpretation.

From the South, North, or East: Travel on Interstate 81
until you get to the Christiansburg/460 W exit (Exit 118B). Follow the 460 bypass until you see signs for Blacksburg/460 W
Business/Industrial Park Drive (Exit 5). Take the Industrial Park Drive exit to the right (sign also says Smart Road Control
Center). At the stop sign, take a left on Industrial Park Drive. Go through the first traffic light, and then take the next
right onto Ramble Road. Turn left onto Kraft Drive. Go approximately 1/3 mile. Our office is located in the Moss Research
Building on the left (1900 Kraft Drive). We are in Suite 250; take the elevator to the second floor and turn right).
If you are coming into town on Route 460 East from West Virginia, get off 460 E at the Blacksburg/South Main/460 Business
exit (Exit 5). Stay to the left on the off-ramp and make a left at the light as you come off the exit (this is South Main
Street/460 Business West). Take a left at the first stop light (Industrial Park Drive) and then an immediate right onto
Ramble Road. Take the first left onto Kraft Drive and go approximately 1/3 mile. Our office is located in the Moss Research
