We conducted a database project with Virginia Facilities Management - Environmental (VAFM-E) at Army National Guard – Maneuver Training Center (ARNG-MTC) Fort Pickett. This geographically linked database integrated all known natural resource information collected on ARNG-MTC Fort Pickett. In turn facilitating natural resources management decisions and expediting the NEPA process when assessing potential impacts from military activities.
Some experience using Microsoft Access and/or ArcGIS 9.x is necessary to view and manipulate data. The Personal Geodatabase (Natural_Resource_Geodatabase_200801.mdb) was created in ArcGIS 9.2 and due to backwards compatibly issues the geographic data can only be viewed in this most recent ArcGIS version. Tabular data can be viewed in most Microsoft Access versions. We built and tested these data in Microsoft Access 2003.
